Have your say and provide feedback on Council’s new Disability Inclusion Action Plan.
Background
Bega Valley Shire Council is developing a new Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP). The Plan will help make the shire more inclusive and accessible for people of all abilities.
About 1 in 5 people live with some form of disability and it is important the Bega Valley has safe, inclusive and accessible spaces and facilities for all.
The NSW Disability Inclusion Act 2014 requires every local council to have a Disability Inclusion Action Plan which is reviewed and updated every four years.
The new DIAP will build on the progress made through the previous two plans. It will outline achievable, measurable and practical actions Council will take to improve accessibility in our community.
The feedback gathered through community engagement helps Council understand the challenges people with disability face in accessing services and facilities, as well opportunities in the Bega Valley. Feedback will directly inform the new actions included in the plan.
How to provide your feedback
We want to hear from you about what helps, what is hard and what should change for people living with disability. Your feedback will be used to help shape the plan.
You can complete the survey, email your thoughts or send feedback by post. Hardcopies of the survey are available from the library branches at Bega, Tura Beach, Eden and Bermagui.
Submissions must be received by Sunday 30 June 2026.
