Council is undertaking a comprehensive review of the Bega Valley Development Control Plan 2013. We are seeking your feedback on the Stage 1 drafts of the Comprehensive Review of the Bega Valley Development Control Plan 2013 (Comprehensive DCP Review).

Project Overview
Council staff have commenced a thorough review of DCP 2013. The project, known as the Comprehensive Development Control Plan Review (the DCP Review) consists of four stages and will result in a whole new DCP with the name reflecting the year of completion.
Each stage will be presented to Council on completion of the drafts, seeking a resolution for public exhibition. Following public exhibition, any feedback and proposed amendments will be reported back to Council for adoption, with each stage coming into effect once adopted by Council.
Once all stages of the review are completed, the DCP will be renamed to reflect the year of completion.
After each stage is adopted, it’s use will be monitored for any required amendments.
Purpose
The aims of the project are to:
respond to changes in the legislative, judicial and development context
give effect to current NSW and the South East and Tablelands Region plans and strategies
give effect to Council’s current strategies, policies and procedures
update references to legislation, standards and Council’s policies and procedures
provide more certainty and transparency for developers
review the layout, format and structure of DCP 2013 with the intent of delivering an accessible and dynamic online resource.
Funding
The project is funded by Council’s General Fund and will be delivered by Council staff.
