Have your say on the Beach Street improved streetscaping plan.

Background

As part of the Merimbula CBD Upgrade, Council is transforming part of Beach Street into an improved public space.

The Beach Street improvements are designed to create a more welcoming and people-focused space, while strengthening pedestrian connections between the CBD and waterfront.

An improved streetscaping plan has been developed for the space, bringing together a range of proposed features and improvements.

What's proposed?

The plan includes improved streetscaping and street furniture for the Beach Street public space.

The design considers how people will move through and use the space, as well as its connection with the broader CBD and waterfront.

About the playground

The playground visuals show the preferred play equipment selected through Council’s recent request for quotation process.

Council will work with the playground supplier to refine details including colours, equipment components, layout and softfall areas to ensure the playground fits well within the surrounding landscape.

The visuals do not show the playground fence, which is separate to the playground equipment contract. The fence design is still to be determined and will be included as part of the final installation before the playground opens to the public.
